Characters in
an Imperfect World
Vibeke
Sorensen is a professor (University of Buffalo, New York) and
artist working in digital multimedia, computer animation, and
interactive architectural installation. She was also the Programme
Chair of the SIGGRAPH 2007 Art Gallery “Global Eyes”.
Taking the academy short film award winning movie “Ryan”
as an example, Vibeke will talk about how to bridge the gap
between documentary and animation and how computer animation
is increasingly involved in documentaries. She will also address
topics like the art of making an animated character realistic
and the esthetic and scientific issues to be considered when
animating a character. A screening of the short film “Ryan”
will also be included.
